Job Description/Responsibilities

The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for overall inventory control for the company; to maintain inventory at the lowest possible level, avoid inventory obsolescence write offs, and ensure perpetual inventories are consistently accurate.


  • Analyze and develop plans to optimize inventory levels giving appropriate consideration to the cost of hold inventory and the customer service goals at the plant, distribution center and bailment warehouses. Establish optimal order quantities, inventory targets and turnover objectives working with purchases and logistics managers. Measure/report deviations from targeted inventory levels.
  • Ensure proper systemic set up of item data for proper inventory control and accounting/valuation working with Cost Accounting and Data Integrity Specialist.
  • Monitor and ensure timely disposition of all test/trial material and items on hold. Monitor slow moving items and minimize obsolescence.
  • Develop processes and procedures to ensure accurate inventory counts/records for both financial control and TTB requirements.
  • Develop processes to improve inventory turns and reduce obsolescence year over year.
  • Work closely with production team in the implementation of approved plans. Develop standard operating procedures and performance standards.
  • Report and communicate inventory levels including metrics like days inventory on-hand, inventory turns, obsolescence tracking, etc. working with Cost Accounting.
  • Coordinate periodic systemic process auditing working closely with production and government reporting.
  • Create and develop a personal development plan to improve a skill/competency that will develop personal skills and improve performance.
  • Develop a career plan that will allow achievement of overall career objectives with the company.



  • 5 years relevant experience
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of an org
  • Undergraduate Degree in Accounting, Business or related field


  • Requires Experience in Alcohol Beverage Industry

 Experience with System 21 ERP software
